A lot of debate at events and in forums on the educational benefits or not of youtube . Well I was lucky enough to see Tim Berners Lee deliver the Lovelace medal lecture at the TUC coutersy of BSC well some bright soul video transcribed it and posted it on youtube url and other stuff link can be found on me blog at

Im all for youtube as a learning medium - i envisage a lab practical session where the students no longer have to rack there brains to remember the method and process but can seamlessly reference to a point or marker within a video. check out the link below, as an example of flash integrated with time stamps where text can be linked to various elements of a video.

In case you haven't seen it, there is an alternative to YouTube that is more education friendly, called
TeacherTube
. Not as much content, but what's there is pretty decent.

Thanks for the TBL link Andy, and thanks for the Teacher Tube link Mark. I certainly hadn't come across that one. I'm quite intrigued...will teachers use it in a similar fashion to "the kids" use YouTube, or will it keep a more teaching/learning/RLO repository focus... will watch with interest.
