The 'holy grail' (their words!) of mobile computing - the Dualcor cPC has the benefits of a PDA (start up time, connectivity), and the benefits of a 3G phone and laptop.

Sounds good - anyone have any more info?

The Power of a Personal Computer...

The Convenience of a Personal Assistant...

The Connectivity of a Mobile Phone...

The size of a brick...

Oh, yeah and a price that will make you cry! (US $1,500)

To be honest, I'm not sure who's Holy Grail this might be but I don't think it will be for schools. It's too big and heavy for your pocket and it's more expensive than a laptop and with a smaller screen. I don't get it.

Is it for real ?

Looking at their web site "product photos" it looks more like an (fairly good) exercise on Pro-DeskTop (3D CAD program) - the surface textures don't look real, but do look like the rendering I can apply to PDT sketches.

I'm find it slightly suspect as well - the specification does not really say anything at all.

It looks a bit too big for those who are truely mobile and slightly too small for those who need a device that is mobile but used in a more or less static environment (such as taking reportings or the like in people's homes).

At the current moment besides my wonderful treo 650, the best truely mobile convergence device seems to be this:

The MDA Pro (sold under various tradenames) and that's still a bit too pricey for most educational environments.
