Another scoop for the Handheld Learning community!
This time it's the official datasheet for the new Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox 800 series devices due to be launched this February and on the market a couple of months later.
This is the first mobile phone device from FSC and combines GSM/UMTS (3G) phone technology with GPS navigation, Windows Mobile 5.0 (phone edition), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a built-in 2 MP (1600 x 1200 for still, VGA for video) camera and email 'push' solution (like Blackberry).
Having Wi-Fi built-in means that users can use free VoIP software such as Skype to make free voice calls when in Wi-Fi hotspots rather than use the overpriced 3G/GSM connections.
The device has a built-in thumb keyboard like the Treo.
The main downside to an otherwise very exciting device is the relatively low resolution screen, 240 x 240, which seems to be the most that WinMob 5 seems to be able to support on mobile phone devices right now (ala, HP 6515, Treo 700w, etc).
