I need to recommend the type of wireless network that will allow 30 handhelds to be used at the same time to access the internet.  The schools network is quick but they need an appropriate wireless system in the classroom.  Any advice or experiences welcome.

We have over 3 years experience in Mobile learning, and the one thing that we have found is that the cheaper wireless hubs are not up to the job. They may do you for now but if you are considering expanding, or you want reliability you really do need a professional solution.

We use cisco routers.

We have already installed a 3COM managed solution which works well with laptops and PDA's.  This gives us wireless coverage across the whole school, using about 30 access points.  We are lucky in having buildings with thin dividing walls and not much steel.  Before we were using ad-hoc wireless nodes which could not support a class set of laptops, and have found performance and reliability is much better.
