Actually you're going to laugh but I have an old iPaq H3850 that I use for development. A friend and I did a nifty Sinclair Spectrum emulator for it
It was top of the range when I got it and has been fine to work with but it's a bit long in the tooth now and I saw some very nice Toshiba's at BETT
What would you or other forum members recommend?

We are using iPAQ 4155s, a device we and our students love because it's small but powerful. Unfortunately HP has discontinued it. We just bought an iPAQ 2410, the replacement device, and like it. It's larger but has both CF and SD slots. We were able to authenticate onto our secure wireless network with it right out of the box. We bought Toshiba e750s last year, but Toshiba seems to be abandoning its support of PocketPC; we can't find new wireless drivers on their web site that will make our e750s work with our guest wireless VLAN (no authentication required), much less the secure wireless VLAN.

I use a Dell Axim X5 Advanced running WM 2003. I also support 2 other identical devices, 10 Axim X5 Basics w/ WM 2003, 4 iPAQ 3650s w/ PPC 2002, and a iPAQ 3950 w/ PPC 2002.
I need devices that have built in (or expansion sleeve based) CF slot for science probe hardware used in education. I am waiting to check out the new Axim X50.

The new Axim X50 looks sweet, does anyone know if it supports VGA in landscape mode out of the box?

Graham,
According to my inside rep at Dell, the X50v sill only support VGA in landscape mode while viewing video.
