They're coming thick (or should that be thin) and fast aren't they?
There seems to be a raft of internet appliances appearing on the market with the idea being that people don't really need/want a big clumsy laptop or tablet PC but they want to access the web or web based applications. Whilst a handheld computer can do this maybe the screens are too small so maybe what you need is a bigger screen but less bulk.
Or maybe web designers can't figure out how to do scalable web pages (to be fair neither can we

)
So here's another entrant into the field, the PepperPad, for the price of a fully loaded notebook PC it can be yours:

The Pepper family of hardware and software products gives you what you want most from your broadband-IM, e-mail, Web browsing, music, photos and videos-in a totally wireless and lightweight device. Digital life will never be the same.
The Pepper Pad offers hassle-free, instant-on access to the Internet and all your digital files. Its innovative design features a QWERTY keypad, an 8.4 inch color display with touch screen, stereo speakers and headphone jack-all at only 2.3 lbs. The pad has built-in digital media libraries that make it easy to keep your photos, music, and videos organized and searchable. It is portable and rugged so you can use the pad in any room at home or away.
I hope someone's collecting all these devices...
