Many delegates have asked for hotel recommendations for when they attend Handheld Learning 2006, also many delegates want to be able to use the evenings to socialise and network. So this thread is for recommendations and suggestions for hotels.

Whilst Handheld Learning makes no guarantee or assurances (although I'd be happy to stay at any of them) the following hotels are near to the conference centre.

Economical:

Comfort Inn Victoria - 020 7233 6636

Holiday Inn Victoria - 0870 400 9093

Business Class:

Thistle Victoria - 0870 333 9120

Thistle Westminster - 0870 333 9121

Blinging:

Crowne Plaza, St James - 020 7834 6655

Grange Rochester - 020 7828 6611

City Inn Westminster - 020 7630 1000

Please feel welcome to add other recommendations to this list

A bit further out and near Old Street Tube  (about 20 mins by tube from the Conference) is the recently opened Hoxton Hotel in "tres tres chic" Shoreditch.

Rates range from £50-80 per night including breakfast and free internet WiFi.

It's been very well reviewed in a number of newspapers as a trendy, yet inexpensive place to stay in London.

There are a number of hotel "aggregators", i.e. those that hold unsold hotel room inventory, that appear to be offering some reasonable rates for rooms near the conference. Some appear less expensive than going directly to the hotels themselves.

Please note that we do not warrant nor have any relationships with these aggregators but list them simply for informational purposes.

For those not used to London's geography the conference centre is in the Westminster area nearby the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
