British Education Communicatios technology Agency's ANNUAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2006
Posted on behalf of colleagues at Becta .
Geoff Stead is doing a panel session as is Doug Brown of DfES.
Becta’s sixth annual Research Conference will take place at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham on Monday 6 November 2006.
The event will provide a platform for the educational ICT research community to share their work on e-strategy strands with policy makers and colleagues from education and industry, in order to continue ongoing dialogue and to promote evidence informed debate on future research.
The conference will:
Enable educational practitioners, policy makers and commercial companies to work in collaboration with researchers in setting a shared research agenda that will lead to a reduction in the level of segregated development and research – a key issue raised at the 2005 Research Conference.
Raise awareness of the importance of high quality independent research and the value that the DFES Technology Group has placed on research evidence.
Investigate how research will support implementation of the e-strategy
Discuss ways in which research informs policy decisions.
Attendance at the event is
free of charge and delegates from the following audience groups are invited to attend:
Educational researchers
Strategic decision makers in schools and LAs
Commercial producers of ICT materials
Policy makers
The conference programme is available on the Events area of the Becta web site and delegates can book places at:
