Hi all

Now I haven't yet bought a Margi presenter to plug into my pocket PC. But Dave Whyley of learning2GO put me onto dotpocket software. It allows you show your pocket PC screen via a alptop linked to a projector and to manipulate your pocket PC using the screen ,keyboard and mouse of your PC.

I know the purists might shout me down but its great tool to show at presentations etc pocket PC content. Its about 30$ but has 30 day trial.

Anybody know any other products like this.

I use the free Microsoft tool "Remote Display Control".  It's to be available from their PowerToys webpage: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/wce/downloads/ppctoys.mspx#EGAA

NOTE: Not too bad w/ a qvga screen, but my Axim x50v (vga screen) looks pretty ugly.

There is another one out there, but I don't recall the name at the moment.  It allows user to "skin" the projection so it appears exactly like the handheld device the user is holding.  I will post the name as soon as I come up with it.

Found it.  It is called MobiControl.  I saw this used at NECC 2005 in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

Like I stated in the previous post, you can download skins so the display on the screen matches the device in the learners hand.  I found it useful for hesitant users.  I have only used the demo version, but it is pretty powerful.

But you have to carry the laptop too.  Shocked

RE: VGA devices. Margi is very specific about which handhelds it will work with - I now have a couple I can't use but I really like the PCCF Backpack (from Expansys). I have one for Qtek 2020i - it has extra battery and CF slot (handy for data logging) as well as VGA and video out.

Yes you do.  However, we had the laptops already and a free or $30.00 software price was much more "stomachable" then the $250.00 for the Margi.
