It's been brought to my attention that there is some confusion about the free Nintendo DS and game cartridge offer for the Early Bird* registrations for this years Handheld Learning Conference.
Just to be clear:
The Nintendo DS and game is yours to keepIt's just that we want you to be familiar with the device and to
bring it with you to the conference as we have a number of things planned that you will miss out on otherwise. If you decide to give it away afterwards (yeah, right) that's entirely up to you but we'd really like you to be using it at the conference.

It's not intended to be a gimmick, rather it's intended to ensure that as many delegates as possible have a similar device at the event and have had an experience with an entertainment based device. Early bird registrants will have the Summer to play with the device. In the past we've had abstract debates about the technologies that, in particular, young learners use yet where many delegates haven't had the same opportunity. We felt that the DS was covering a broad range of learners from the young to mature hence this years arrangement, other industry partners were given similar opportunity.
So get registering before it's too late;
here.
