Title: Resources available for teaching and learning using mobile phones
Post by: Saku on June 25, 2008, 09:44:14 PM
Dear All,

I am a PhD student working on application of mobile phones for teaching and learning science. I am very much interesting on different resources available for teaching and learning using mobile phones. I would be grateful if anybody could help me with links or clues to such resources.

With many thanks

Saku

Hi Saku

I designed Hairdressing Training for mobiles, which is a LSC funded national UK resource for students. It is free for subscribing collleges and is the first service of its kind in the UK. Also I have been consulting on a couple of Molenet projects which have been using the service.

So if you are interested in knowing more please do contact me.

Cheers

Stu

Dear Stu,

Thank you for responding. It seems to be interesting and I would be grateful if you could send me bit more details about it such as, how you use the mobiles for this training course, how I can subscribe and what I will get if I subscribe.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Cheers

Saku

Hi Saku

You can read more about it all here

http://anywherelearning.blogspot.com/2008/02/hairdressing-training-goes-mobile.html (http://anywherelearning.blogspot.com/2008/02/hairdressing-training-goes-mobile.html)

It essentially brings a mobile interface to those aspects of the desktop service that are suitable for mobile delivery.

I've presented on this quite a bit, so have a look at the videocast at
http://anywherelearning.blogspot.com/2008/05/delivering-mobile-learning-video.html (http://anywherelearning.blogspot.com/2008/05/delivering-mobile-learning-video.html)

I hope that helps. Access could be arranged but not until the end of July, as we are moving the service to Federated Access.

If you want to know please let me know.

Cheers

Stu

Hi Saku
Take a look at www.m-learning.mobi -  a series of tools, applications and content to support learning and teaching. Specifically take a look at the Intel Skoool page and the empasis on Science (and maths).
If you want some logins to have a closer look for your study, please feel free to drop me an email at michael@m-learning.mobi

Hi Saku

Take a look also at
www.streetaccess.co.uk/SA/pages/schools.html (http://www.streetaccess.co.uk/SA/pages/schools.html)
We provide a tool that allows teachers to create their own, interactive activities on mobiles.
