Theres a review up at Brighthand and bargain PDA
http://www.brighthand.com/article/palmOne_LifeDrive_Review?site=Palmand notes
a) its 3/4" thick!!!!!!!!!!!!! So more of LifeBrick then :-)
and b)to answer the usb question notes
"palmOne plans in the June timeframe to release what they call the USB On the Go Box. It'll be an adapter cable with a funny little box in the middle that connects between the LifeDrive and most digital cameras' USB ports to allow for the same quick and easy image offload while away from a PC."
Hey, yipee yet another cable and adapter to carry about:-), I wonder if drivers are needed for each camera...
But its step forward for Palm. The PocketPC I occasionally use can deal with things like USB flashdrives, but again needs a cable carried around to deal with it, which is not exactly convenient!
Theres another review at
http://www.bargainpda.com/discussion/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8987The most amusing/astounding.worrying note here is:-
"Unfortunately, there's one other hitch to the whole microdrive deal. Any form of hard-reset will erase the entire contents of the hard drive, without exception. When you issue the command for a hard reset, you're given two options: a fast erase that takes 5 minutes, and a "secure erase" that takes 30 minutes. "
I really really really hope this isnt true....
oh dear that will be fun next when you get a rogue application wont it :-)
::sigh:: again!
best wishes
Jon (who thinks... perhaps I should take a break from PDAs for a while, as I think I am getting a bit negative and jaundiced! or perhaps expecting too much!)
