Using Activesync to sync my pda's calendar with my school computer

I've just moved to a new school and now am lucky enough to have my own classroom. This means that instead of having to type up my lesson notes on my pda, I could type them up in outlook on the pc and then sync them to my pda to take home to my laptop. Unfortunately I don't have local administrator rights for my school pc and IT admin tell me that activesync won't work without it. They said if I could find another program instead of activesync that didn't require local admin rights, that they would be happy to install it for me. Problem is that most 'alternatives' to activesync still require activesync to be installed.
So... firstly, is there anyone running activesync on a school computer who doesn't have local administrator rights? Who knows, maybe IT admin are wrong and it will work. Secondly, is anyone syncing their calendar in school with other programs?
Thanks,
Lindsay

In theory it can be done in many ways some hacks to the registry, using the Temp file ect..
But there is a good thread about this subject
here
The post by Ciainc is what you should look at
Hope this helps you but you could always get the Admins to install ActiveSync on the PC as Admin and allow it avaliable for all Users to use?? Just a thought

Hmmm
I use ActiveSync on my work computer and I don't have admin rights.
The IT services people needed rights to install it, but not to run it.
The group policy may need to be changed.
Though having said that, try a different track.
Rather than ask them to install Activesync, talk to them about the problem and how would they solve it.
Identify the real problem and let them come up with a solution, as they are IT Support aren't they?
