2  Technology matters / Phones and PDAs / Re: EDAs - Why can't I change the themes? on: March 03, 2008, 06:38:26 PM
Another way you can change the background theme is by doing the following:
Start/Programs /Pictures & Videos
Hold the styles over the desired picture/image for approximately 1.5 seconds.
Once you have done this a drop down menu should appear, from the menu select Set as Todays Background Image   Cool

Hi Mr Mahoney

Here's an idea (and a plug!)

Use RedHalo to create a mobile learning environment. Adding a camera to the PSP turns it into a great device for capturing and editing pictures and video which can be "handed in" as project work using RedHalo. Also teachers can distribute images, video and other media to a school full of PSP's and other devices from a single remote location using a laptop.

RedHalo Platform Edition is free.

Running on a PSP here.

4  Technology matters / Phones and PDAs / Introducing RedActivity on: July 26, 2007, 06:54:58 AM
Say hello to the latest addition to the RedHalo family - RedActivity  Smiley

RedActivity is a new application that enables learners to work on a complete activity using a range of tools found on their mobile device. For example, they can combine animations, web pages, written documents, video's, audio recordings, drawings, photo's and spreadsheets and hand it in as a single activity. The activity along with its associated media components are sent to the RedHalo server where the teacher can review it. This is where it gets really cool, as RedActivity builds a simple web page for the teacher who can then select each component for viewing on their laptop or PC. The other neat thing about this is that nothing gets lost and RedActivity folders can easily be tagged for transfer to 3rd party e-portfolio or assessment systems.

RedActivity will be made available initially on Windows Mobile and UMPC formats (Windows XP/Vista) as a free upgrade to all RedHalo users from September.

RedActivity supports a variety of 3rd party software applications including all those in the standard RedHalo bundle and Mobile Office suite.

For a sneak peek, download this Alpha test version:
