The dates for the Handheld Learning Festival & Conference scheduled for this October have now been rescheduled to January 9th-11th as part of the Learning Without Frontiers International Festival of Learning and Technology

In summary, this change has been brought about in response to recent changes in UK government that bring challenges but also opportunities. After deep consideration we have taken the decision to establish a larger event that brings together our most exciting communities and events under a single umbrella whilst keeping the registration fee the same and extending the early bird registration that includes the iPad until September 30th.

Interestingly the dates sit between the worlds largest consumer electronics show, CES, in the US and the worlds largest technology in education trade show in the UK, BETT. So an exciting time for new tech for learning announcements.

Despite a barrage of newsletters, tweets, conference site updates and postings on all of our main community groups we are still receiving phone calls and emails from registered delegates who were unaware that the Handheld Learning 2010 Conference has been moved from October 2010 to January 2011 as part of the LWF International Festival of Learning & Technology

This has partly been due to registered delegates opting out of receiving any communication from us, having their work web browsing filtered to prevent access to online networking groups such as LinkedIn and Twitter, registering using generic email addresses that are not read, e.g. office@ or admin@ or simply not returning to the conference website.

For the avoidance of doubt the original newsletter went out on June 17th with a follow up on July 19th and another on Sept 14th

Regular updates were also featured in our main community groups

If you know of anybody still planning to come along next week please would you advise them of the date change.
